Student Data and School Onboarding
Updated October 11, 2026. Status: prelaunch. There are currently no authorized school deployments under this policy.
Before student use
A public privacy page is a notice, not consent and not a school agreement. Before enabling a class, we must document the lawful basis for the specific use, verify the authorizing adult or institution, provide the applicable notices, and establish the operational safeguards.
School and parent authorization
Where a school is authorized to act for educational use, the arrangement must be limited to that authorized educational purpose. When parent consent is required, appropriate verifiable consent must be obtained before the covered collection or use. The applicable FERPA basis, school control over records, access restrictions and rights must also be documented.
Required deployment controls
The deployment must define the minimum data needed, authenticated roles and class ownership, controlled inference, permitted tools and providers, protection of stored and transmitted records, security response, parent/student access and correction, and a retention and deletion schedule that includes backups. Student records must not be captured for model training or used for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.
Public and private records
This page and the public notices are available in the footer. Signed school agreements, consent evidence, school-specific schedules, requests and incident records belong in restricted storage. We do not publish children's identities or consent records.
Onboarding is not yet enabled
Student access remains disabled in the prelaunch release. Development tests use clearly synthetic accounts and remove them afterward. Publishing these requirements does not claim that an institutional deployment has been approved or that compliance has been certified.
